Easter

I'm thankful for my Savior. I'm thankful that He lived, I'm thankful that He died for me, I'm thankful that He rose again on the third day! Happy Easter!

My ride for autism shirt

I have a t-shirt that says ride for autism. I volunteered at the ride, but I did not participate in the ride. The t-shirt was cool enough that I bought one. It's one of my favorite shirts - even though its 2 years old. I was wearing this shirt today. I walked out of the grocery store, in a hurry, not really paying attention to much, just anxious to get out of there. A lady caught me by both shoulders and told me she was thankful for my shirt. Her son is autistic and she is grateful for people who are aware. I'm thankful for the reminder that we all have an opportunity to make an impact on each other, even if its just through a t-shirt!

100 percent

I ran a mile today - at 100% of my body weight. It was awesome! I'm thankful to finally be getting my body back. Not running/working has definitely been a challenge.

Cindys laugh

We have a friend named Cindy. I think she is great! One of my favorite things about having Cindy around is being able to hear her laugh! I just love it and I'm so thankful I got to hear it tonight!

Extra time

I worked late last night. I worked late tonight. I officially have too many hours for this pay period. Since I don't get compensated anymore for going over 40 hours in a week, I'm not very willing to work more than 40 hours a week. So this morning I went into work late. I'm thankful for the extra time I had to spend at home. And I'm thankful I get to spend some extra time at home tomorrow morning too!

Quality time at the gym

I love my roommates. They are both just fabulous! Today I'm thankful that they are both willing to wake up at 5:00AM and go to the gym with me. They're both participating in a summer slim down challenge. I'm super excited to see their success (because I know they're going to rock it!) And in the meantime, I'm going to be thankful for their example and the accountability I feel from our commitment to support each other - even if it means waking up at 5:00AM!!

Safety training

Every year my department has a safety week. Every day of safety week we have a safety training. I'm thankful for the training today on emergency shut-off locations and evacuation procedures. You don't think about things like that when you get a new job and move to a new office! I'm thankful to have just a little bit more knowledge about what I'm supposed to do in case of an emergency in my new office!!

BodyJam

I joined a new gym today. I've been going to the new gym all week on a guest pass. I've loved it! After the BodyJam class I took this morning, I was sold. I went back later and signed up so I can continue going. I'm thankful for the class today because it was the final push I needed to commit. I'm thankful for the workout I got. I'm thankful for the instructor who took the time to get to know me and was super encouraging - even though I made a fool out of myself! BodyJam is a dance class...a hip hop dance class...and I don't have one dancing bone in my whole body!! But even though I was not at all coordinated, it was such a fun time and I can't wait until I get to do it again!

Birthday dinner

I am thankful for Krista's family! I went to a birthday dinner tonight for Krista's grandma Lessey. Every year for her birthday they go to an Italian place called Ligori's. I don't mind going to Ligori's because they do gluten free pizza. When we got there everyone was eating. They do a little buffet for the big groups that come in. When the waitress who was helping our room came by, I ordered a gluten free pizza for myself and told her I would pay for it separately. When we were done I tried to figure out who I needed to pay and Krista's mom, Lorna, told me they had taken care of it. I'm so thankful for their generosity!! I just love them!

Compromise

I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with people who are willing to compromise. It makes life do much easier!!

Active shooter training

I am not a fan of guns. In fact, I'm pretty darn scared of guns...or rather, I'm pretty darn scared of bad people with guns. I know they can be good and I don't mind when people I trust have guns. Today one of the Sandy City police officers conducted a training on what we can do to survive if we ever encounter an active shooting. It was totally disturbing, and yet, a little bit comforting to know the best thing to do if I ever find myself in that situation. I just hope I can remember what everything I learned!

A lunch invite

I got invited to go to lunch with 3 of my employees. They were meeting the old center director (I replaced him when he left). It was a really fun lunch. We just chatted away. I'm thankful that my employees let me tag along. And I'm thankful for the advice I got from the old director.

Bodypump with Megan

I'm trying out a new gym. The new gym has bodypump. I loved that class when I went to it years ago and I loved it again this morning. I'm thankful my friend Megan was willing to be at the gym at 5:00am to go with me! I'm thankful for the great motivation I'm feeling right now in my life to make some good changes, to eat better, drink more water, go to bed earlier, wake up earlier and get a good workout. I just hope my hip continues to let me! So far, so good.

A Sunday stroll

I took a little walk with Krista today. I really wanted to do something active, but still keeping the sabbath day holy. We had a great talk about amazing dreams, the people we love and goals we have. It was a great addition to an already uplifting Sunday!!

I very rarely get to take a nap these days, even though I am tired most of the day!! So when there's an opportunity and I get to actually take a nap, I am thankful.

Hope

I got spend the night at my bishop's cabin in Heber with some of our relief society sisters. We had a little message and talked about hope. I'm thankful for this quote that somebody shared about hope - "Hope is anything but wishful. It is expectation based on experience." I love that. I feel like things are going pretty well in my life, but I'm still thankful for the hope I feel.

Open windows

Today it was spring. I'm trying really hard not to get too excited because I know it won't last. I know we'll still get a few more snow storms. But I definitely appreciated the warm day we had today. I'm thankful that its getting warm enough to open windows. I drove with my car windows down today. There's not much I love more than driving with the windows down and the music up loud! I'm thankful I got a little taste of that today.

Taxes

I'm actually not thankful for taxes. But I am thankful for tax returns. And I'm thankful that my tax return has been submitted!

The silent auction

The conference I've been attending the last couples is now over, and the silent auction that's been happening during the conference is also over...and...I WON!! I think this was the first time I ever bid on anything at a silent auction. I paid $35 for entry into 5 races that are organized at the rec center just a couple miles from my house. $7 per race - I'd say I got a pretty good deal! I'm thankful I had the opportunity to bid and I'm thankful I was the highest bidder!!

Pickleball

I am thankful that I get to work in the recreation field. I am thankful that I get to spend today and tomorrow at a conference for recreation professionals in utah. Today I'm thankful that I got to spend 2 hours of my day outside, in the wonderful St. George sun playing in a pickleball tournament. It was super fun!

Extra sunlight

I'm not thankful that I lost an hour of sleep last night, but I am thankful I didn't have to wake up early for anything so it wasn't a big deal. I'm also thankful for the extra hour of sunlight tonight. I LOVE the sun. It does wonderful things for my mood and my attitude. I'm so thankful that now I'll have a little extra time to soak up that sun every night!

Love

My "love language" is quality time. And after today, I'm feelin' it! Today I'm thankful for all the awesome quality time I've been able to spend with my family. We ate a delicious breakfast, went and played laser tag, ate lunch at Costa Vida, saw a movie, hung out at my mom's house for a bit, ate the delicious fondue and steak ever at Anasazi Steakhouse (our new favorite), and finished the night off with ice cream and a silly movie at home. It was all so great. I couldn't have asked for anything better or better company. I sure love my family and I'm thankful I got to spend so much time with them today!

A day with my mom

I got to sleep in. My mom made me pancakes for breakfast. We got massages. We shopped at Ulta and JoAnn's. We ate at Red Robin for lunch and the Anasazi Steakhouse for dinner. We laughed our heads off as we watched Pitch Perfect. I'm so thankful that I could come to St. George early so I could spend this day with my mom! She is so great'

A skipped class

I skipped my class today and took off early to get to St. George. I'm so thankful for the time I have to spend with my mom and the warm and the sun! Six whole days. I love it!

Excitement

I am so thankful for things to be excited about! I'm also thankful for other people's excitement about the things I'm excited about. I gave an update on our half marathon to the tourism committee of Sandy today. They are SO excited about this race. It helps fuel my excitement (not that my excitement about this race needs any fuel...but still).

Exciting plans

I'm going to New York City!! A few girls in my ward planned the trip yesterday and today I booked a flight. I'm so excited and so thankful for something to look forward to! It's going be a crazy good time!

A response

I have friend (Adrienne) who lives in New Zealand. She's been here attending LDS Business College. I love her! She is one of the most genuinely kind people I know! It's almost sickening! She went home in December and I waited so patiently for her to return after the new year. She never did. A friend told me she decided not to come back this semester. I've been dying because I've felt the need to contact here for a few weeks now. Her phone is not in service so I pestered another friend until I finally got ahold of her email address. I emailed her last weekend and today I finally got a response. Hearing from her was great, but hearing that's she's coming back this week was even better! I'm excited to chat with her. I'm so thankful I finally got in contact with her. And I'm thankful she'll be back soon!

Rain

I'm more of a sun kid - I love the sunshine!! But if its going to snow/rain (especially in March), I would really much rather that it rain! I'm thankful for the rain that fell today. I'm thankful that it melted some of the nasty black snow. I'm thankful that I cleaned the salt of my car. And I'm thankful that tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny!!

My purse

I went on a blind date last. At the end of the night I accidentally left my purse in the guy's car!! It wouldn't have been so bad but he lives an hour away!! And - to make matters worse, my car key was in my purse (in Orem). But I didn't want to make him drive all the way back so I borrowed Krista's car (which I'm so thankful she was willing to let me do) and drove for 2 hours to get my purse. I'm thankful to have it back!!

A murder mystery dinner

I've heard about murder mystery dinners, but tonight was the first time I've ever participated in one. It was a lot of fun. I'd like to do it again with a group of people I know really well. It's hard to get to know people when you're pretending to be someone you're not!
