My last day as a Recreation Coordinator

The bosses have spoken.  On Monday I will start my new job as the Center Manager of Alta Canyon Sports Center.  I'm excited, but I'm also a little bit sad to leave my current job.  I am so thankful for the things I have learned and the people I have grown to love.  I'm thankful for all the work that those people are going to have to do in my absence.  And, even though it means a LOT of added stress for other people, I'm thankful that I don't have to be the one in charge of the high school boys Jr. Jazz leagues!  Yeah!!  Those boys drive me insane!

Hairapy

I love getting my hair cut! I'm thankful that that could happen tonight. But more than that, I'm thankful that I could get my hair cut by someone that I just think is amazing. I'm thankful that she hung around my house forever just waiting for to get home from class. I'm thankful that she let me vent about all the things that overwhelming me right now. I'm thankful that she has some of the same struggles I do. I'm thankful for Heather and her amazing hairapy!

Shoes

I'm thankful for the shoes I have to wear, especially during the cold winter months. I'm thankful for the new, dressier shoes I got to wear to my new job - they came in the mail today.

No cavities

I'm pretty sure this is what I was thankful for 6 months ago...but that's okay! I have horrible teeth! I have had so many cavities, it's not even funny! I'm not sure what happened in the last 5 years, but for some reason I've gone a long time without a cavity (a long time for me anyway). I'm thankful every time the dentist says, "Everything looks great! Keep up the good work!"

An official announcement

I got a new job!! I will moving up in Sandy Parks and Recreation to take over as the director of Alta Canyon - the rec center in Sandy! I'm super excited! They told me that I was the top candidate more than 2 weeks ago, but I've had to keep it quiet until it was "official." Now it's official! I will spend the next several weeks transitioning - figuring things out at Alta Canyon and helping the other coordinators take over my responsibilities in my current job. I am SO excited for this opportunity and I'm excited I don't have to keep quiet any more!!

My car

I love my car. It is definitely a blessing in my life. I'm thankful that I was able to purchase it and that it has served me so well! I'm thankful that my car provided a safe means for me to travel to and from St. George this week.

A family day

Most of my family was together today. We ate breakfast at Denny's, we went swimming at the rec center, we went hiking in Snow Canyon, we ate dinner at Outback, and we went to a little Christmas festival at Tuachan. I'm thankful for the fun we had while we were together!
