Something I'm not a part of

Today I'm thankful for my lack of involvement in a project. I'm part of a committee for work. A few people on this committee put together a program they plan to implement in January. Personally, I think this project is a bit of a stretch, and I don't think it's developed enough to launch so soon. But, I'm not in charge. I'm happy to support it and do what I can, but I'm thankful it's not my baby! 

Perfect progress

I saw my ENT today. He wanted to see me three weeks after surgery to see how things were healing. That happened to be today. He said, "whatever you're doing, keep doing it! It looks perfect!" I'm thankful my body is healing and adjusting to the extra metal in my skull! 

New tires

I'm NOT thankful I had to buy new tires. It's no fun! But I am thankful to know that those new tires will jet one much safer on the road. I decided if it's going to be snowy during rush hour traffic, bald tires were just not going to hack it! 

A theory

I'm taking a class about human behavior in recreation. It's basically a class where we learn all about theories, the different elements of a theory, what makes a good theory, etc. for the last two weeks, we (the students in the class) have been scouring over a set of data from a survey trying to come with some but of information that we can develop into a theory. I've been thinking about this quite a bit and today I finally found my little bit of information from the data that I will turn into my theory. I just hope I can figure out how to organize all the thoughts in my head into a solid theory! For now I'm just thankful for the beginning of my theory. 

Temple prep

I have some good friends who are preparing to go to the temple. The bishop wants them to attend the temple prep class before they go. I considered going to the class with my friends, but when I heard that the bishop's wife was the one teaching, I knew I had to go. I just love her and will forever be thankful to know her. And I'm thankful for the class she taught today...even if I'm passed the point of needing temple prep myself! 

Downsizing

I'm thankful for the feeling that comes when we get rid if things you know you do not need anymore. I have a hard time letting some things go. But sometimes you have to get over it and move on!!

Epiphanies

I had lots of epiphanies today. I spent all day at work working on a solution to a problem I didn't know we had. Finding the problem was a great epiphany. It's going to take a lot if hard work to fix it, but it will really benefit us in the long run. I also had a few great epiphanies while I was at dinner with a good friend. We chatted about striving for excellence and the idea that as we strive for excellence, we need a worthy opponent. I loved every minute of our conversation. I wish I had recorded it all so I could listen to it again later!
