A humble dad

I received an email from a humble dad last night. Today I had a conversation with him on the phone. I'm do thankful for him and his example. I'm thankful for the incredible amount of humility it took him to ask what he asked to help his son. I wish more parents cared and acted like this father did. 

A family night visit

Aaron texted me and asked if I was home tonight. I just happened to be on my way home from work. He said his family night adventures took them to centerville and he and Jamie and the boys wanted to stop by and visit for a little bit. I'm thankful they spent a little extra time to come visit me! I sure love them!

Priesthood blessings

I was set apart today to be the first counselor in the Relief Society presidency in my singles ward. I'm really excited. I love the other girls in the presidency and I'm excited to get to know and serve more of the sisters in my ward. I'm thankful for the opportunity I had to be set apart. I'm thankful for the powerful words that were spoken, the peace and love that immediately filled my heart, and the Spirit that bore witness to me personally. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me. I know that I am exactly where He needs me to be.

My right ear

I'm deaf in my left ear. 100% deaf. It's beyond frustrating! I miss a lot. I have to put more thought and planning into where I sit than one should have to. It's a daily struggle. I hate it. But, at the same time, I am so, so, so thankful that I can hear out of my right ear. I'm thankful that I can still enjoy movies and music and conversation. I still have hope that someday I will be able to hear on both sides again. Until then I am thankful for at least one side!

Dinner with Rodney

I left work today with zero plans. My roommate (so weird that I only have one now!) had planned to go to a scrapbooking night so I knew I was on my own. Right after work I went to check out the new outlet mall. I mostly just browsed, but I did buy one cute shirt for $10. I was walking to my car trying to figure out what I wanted for dinner when Rodney called me. He's in Salt Lake at a convention for work. He had the rest of the night off and wanted to know if I wanted to meet him for dinner. It worked out perfectly! I'm thankful I got to spend some time with him instead of hanging out at home alone all night!

Allegra

The pollen count in my area is through the roof! As in, it's as high as the scale goes! I'm thankful that I have been taking my allergy medicine (Allegra) faithfully for a few months. I've still felt the effects of the crazy high pollen count, but I know it could much worse!

A new calling

I was asked to accept a new calling at church. I knew it was coming, but I was pretty anxious about it. I knew it was about time to reorganize the Relief Society presidency. I'm so thankful I'm not the new president! I'm also thankful for that new president! I know she is exactly what the girls in our ward need. And I'm thankful that I will have the opportunity to serve with her in the presidency.
